Custom Recoveries, as you know, is something which rules out the limitations of the device’s stock recovery and is a necessary requirement in most of the specialized actions including root. We have already mentioned in our post about the advantages of a custom recovery in an Android device. If you are an Android user who have done a lot of advanced operations on your device, then you must have probably given a try on the TeamWin’s TWRP.

Soon after the 2013 Nexus 7 hit the roads, TeamWin has come up with a new version of TWRP recovery specially for the new Nexus 7. The new TWRP (version 2.6) is available for download at TeamWin’s official blog.

How to install TWRP Recovery on Nexus 7

You may install TWRP recovery on your Nexus 7 using the command line once your bootloader is unlocked and have ADB and fastboot (Enable USB debugging, get into fastboot mode and use the command ‘fastboot flash recovery file.img‘. Replace ‘file’ with the name of the image file). If you don’t prefer to mess up with the command prompt, read our guide to install any custom recovery in 30 seconds.
